Jansz Tasmania Vintage Cuvee 2007

Jansz Tasmania Vintage Cuvee 2007

In 2007, every block from the Jansz vineyard was hand-harvested separately, and kept in individual batches through the year. Gentle handling, select barrel fermentation and complex assemblage blending resulted in a wonderful 2007 Jansz Vintage Cuvee. Four years ageing on yeast lees after the secondary fermentation gives classical yeast complexity for the final wine. The colour is vibrant, pale straw with a fine mousse. The rich, layered nose shows gorgeous yeast ageing, toast, brioche and cream. The fruits are of quince and honeysuckle and classical chardonnay notes of ripe lemon. A textural wine with mouth-watering acidity, layers of flavour and texture are drawn across the palate. The palate is intense and rich, typical of the 2007 vintage. The Pinot fruit delivers rosewater and strawberries to the palate, supporting beautiful chardonnay flavours of ripe lemon and honeysuckle. Barrel fermentation gives the wine a touch of tannin and wonderful ethereal notes, years of tirage age give creaminess and beautiful lengths.
