Jansz Premium Vintage Rose 2007

Jansz Premium Vintage Rose 2007

One small block of Pinot Noir from the Jansz Vineyard J27 was hand tended and kept separate from the remaining blocks throughout the year. Very gentle handling during harvest and in the winery was followed by fermentation in old French oak resulting in complexity and sophistication. Tirage and a secondary fermentation in the bottle followed. After more than three years aging on yeast lees the wine was disgorged and liquered, again using 100% Tasmanian Pinot Noir. The colours of pale pink rose petals, Jansz Tasmania Vintage Premium Rosé 2007 has an intense, lifted nose of gorgeous aromas.Rose petals and oyster shell are the immediate notes, developing into fresh strawberries with pouring cream. The palate is sorbet-like, with Turkish delight and fresh citrus. The pure Pinot gives a delicate truffle flavour and yet more strawberries. Barrel fermentation has given the wine a touch of fine tannin and, coupled with the beautiful natural acidity, the wine has a mouth-watering, lingering finish.
