Natalie became Jansz Tasmania winemaker in January 2001 and brings with her a wealth of sparkling wine experience gained from Seppelt's Great Western winery, making some of Australia's most awarded red and white sparkling wines. She describes herself as a winemaker with "a passion for turning great fruit into exceptional wine." Her winemaking philosophy is firmly focused on the vineyard with a great deal of time spent walking the rows looking at the vines and tasting the grapes through the various stages of ripeness. "It's the only way to get a real feel for the fruit and, therefore, the resulting wine," she says. |
Waiting for the perfect moment to pick the fruit from the vineyard each year is something that Jansz Tasmania Winemaker Natalie Fryar takes seriously:"You’ve really got to get to know the fruit you're working with and form a close relationship with the viticulturists and grape growers."
